Tyrrell Hatton looks to hang on to his lead in the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship early Sunday morning.
Set your alarm clocks early if you’re going to catch the start of the final round of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The pro-am tournament is played at the Old Course at St. Andrews and it has earned that title the honest way. This tournament is played in the home of golf in Fife, Scotland at the oldest course in the world dating back to 1552. The star of this tournament has undoubtedly been Tyrrell Hatton. The Englishman has shot 22-under-par through the first three rounds. Hatton shot 11-under 61 on Saturday shooting nine birdies and grabbing an eagle. The performance was good enough to tie the course record. He secured the great finish with two birdies on the final two holes including The Road Hole on 17 which is considered one of the most difficult in the sport. For how well Hatton played in the third round, you think he would be running away from the competition at this historic course. That’s not the case though with this being an incredibly competitive field.

Nicolas Colsaerts from Belgium is right on Hatton’s tail shooting 21-under-par and has been very consistent all week shooting a 65 in each of the first three rounds. Tom Vaillant from France rounds off the top three in this tournament. He is sitting at 19-under-par and shot eight-under on Saturday. One of the most endearing things of this tournament happened when Welsh football player Gareth Bale had been paired with PGA Tour mainstay Dan Brown. In the second round, a dog made it on the course during their play and stole Bale’s ball. Anything can happen at the world’s oldest course and you’re not going to want to miss the finale.
