The season 18 premiere of the ABC hit hidden camera show What Would You Do? is back today.
For the 18th time What Would You Do? is back hosted by news correspondent John Quinones. This social experiment, hidden-camera show has tested the unassuming public for over 16 years since it debuted back in 2008. The format for the show follows the reactions and actions of strangers as they walk by public areas where staged and filmed conflicts, illegal acts and other scenarios play out. The strangers have no idea that they are being recorded, which is the point of the show. What would you do in these situations if you had no idea that they were being filmed and dissected by the public? Would you help someone in need? Would you walk by and hope to not make eye contact?

Each season of What Would You Do? brings new scenarios and social situations to test the unassuming public. The most recent season earlier this year featured eight total episodes, one of the shortest seasons in the show’s recent history. This season’s episode count has not been revealed yet, with the premiere tonight on ABC.
All of the scenarios are performed by actors, setting the stage with illegal activities and scenarios for bystanders to choose whether or not to intervene. The scenarios are altered and changed over the years with gender swaps, age and gender changes, all designed to test regular people.
Those scenarios are then shown during the episodes and broken down by the experts. During the episodes psychologists, professors and others join Quinones to review what happened and offer their professional feedback starting tonight with the season 18 premiere of What Would You Do?
