On Thursday night, ABC will rewind and take a look back at the most newsworthy stories of 2024 with The Year: 2024 beginning at 9 p.m. ET. As we prepare for a new year, co-anchor of Good Morning America and anchor and managing editor of World News Tonight David Muir will be joined by Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer, ABC News Live Prime and World News Tonight Sunday anchor Linsey Davis, Nightline co-anchor Juju Chang, 20/20 co-anchor Deborah Roberts and ABC News correspondent Will Reeve to present to top stories of the year. The special will highlight a year of war, political shifts, pop culture moments, sporting triumphs, lost stars and many more highs and lows of 2024.

While there will be some moments shared that show some of the more upsetting events in the world, the special will also include interviews with Elton John, Teddy Swims, Lisa Ann Walter, Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedoroscik to improve the mood following those sad stories.
ABC News correspondents will take a look inside the Taylor Swift craze of 2024, putting a spotlight on her record breaking “Eras” tour that spanned nearly two years and generated more than $1 billion in revenue. We will also take a look at pop sensation Charli XCX whose music was the soundtrack to summer.
One of the biggest stories that the cast and crew will dive into is this November’s election. Kamala Harris’ surprising Democratic nomination as well as the assassination attempt of former president Donald Trump will be revisited.
With so many big stories of the year, Thursday’s special will be a good one to watch in order to remember some of the noteworthy events that will sculpt 2025 and beyond. Tune in on ABC at 9 p.m. ET.
