Not often do you get to see how iconic movies are made; you will not want to miss The Making of Gladiator II by CBS on Monday night.
CBS Network will air a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Gladiator II, a movie that will follow the infamous Gladiator, a movie that many consider top 10 all-time. According to the movie’s website, Gladiator II, the legendary director Ridley Scott, continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.
According to the local newspaper, “this special will give fans a never-before-seen look at the making of the film. This inside look offers unprecedented access encompassing all aspects of production, from the grand scope of the set – including reconstructing Ancient Rome – to characters, combat training, costumes, historical accuracy, scoring, and more.”
Paul Mescal will star as Lucius in the highly anticipated film. He will costar alongside Denzel Washington as Macrinus, Pedro Pascal as Marcus Acacius, Connie Nelson as Lucilla, Joseph Quinn as Emperor Geta, Derek Jacobi as Gracchus, and Fred Hechinger as Emperor Caracalla.
