CBS is set to air the world premiere of the brand-new fifth season of The Equalizer on Sunday night. The official synopsis of the series reads as follows: “Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background, uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. McCall comes across to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter, but to a trusted few, she is The Equalizer, an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.”

The Equalizer is the reboot of the original series of the same name, created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. The series is co-created by executive producers, Lindheim, Sloan and Queen Latifah, who also stars as the titular character.
Furthermore, John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller also serve as executive producers. Creator Lindheim passed away from heart failure in 2021 while working on the series. The series premiere is dedicated to his memory.
Queen Latifah is a rapper, singer and actresss, who has received various accolades including a Grammy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and two NAACP Image Awards.
She has also been nominated for an Academy Award and, in 2006, became the first hip-hop artist to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
