Sweetpea premieres on STARZ as a dark, twisted coming of age mini series starring Ella Purnell.

Sometimes it is the person that everyone overlooks who can literally get away with murder. That is the theory that Rhiannon Lewis, played by Ella Purnell, will test in the STARZ original mini series Sweetpea premiering today. This six episode mini series premieres with the episode “Sorry for Your Loss” which follows Rhiannon, a wallflower who is mourning the death of her father while simultaneously dealing with a bully. Those two factors are just enough to push Rhiannon over the edge and to the brink of murder. Sweetpea also features Jon Pointing as Craig, Tim Samuels as Phil, Calam Lynch as AJ and others around Purnell as a part of this dark comedy.

Sweetpea comes from the mind of Kirstie Swain as the show’s creator and main writer. The series will feature the direction of Ella Jones, who is best known for directing episodes of TV shows like Here We Go, Back to Life and The Baby.

Purnell has been a rising star in recent years leading up to earning this role as the lead in a mini series. Over the last three years she has had supporting and starring roles in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Yellowjackets, Star Trek: Prodigy, Invincible, Fallout and Arcane.
In this mini series Purnell will bring to life Rhiannon, a character that a lot of people can relate to as the invisible character in the story of life.
