With the stunning views inside each park, the show hopes to inspire viewers to travel to the parks and stay informed about the activism that is helping to protect these native lands. The show features many endangered species in each of the parks and showcases which animals are vulnerable to factors like climate change and pollution.
The show aims to educate viewers on the ecological abuses that were the impetus for creating the national parks. Poaching was one of the biggest factors in working to protect species. In the 1880’s alone, five million birds were poached in the Everglades to use the feathers to make fashion hats. National Parks: USA will also highlight the corrections of how some of the national parks were originally run to restore natural life to each habitat such as the removal of dams to fix the disrupted runs of salmon and and the reintroduction of wolves.
Tune in on Sunday night with the premiere episode which will feature Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska.
