Tennis great Serena Williams takes a look back on her 27 years on the court in ABC’s docuseries on Sunday afternoon.
It’s not often that the tennis world meets a player with as high of a caliber of play as Serena Williams. On Sunday afternoon, ABC will take a look inside of the 27-year career as Williams shares a personal account of her career while highlighting some of her most memorable Grand Slam appearances in In the Arena: Serena Williams at 2 p.m. ET. The eight-part series will come to a close as Williams recounts the challenges and triumphs on her way to being the winning 23 Grand Slam titles; more than any male or female tennis player in history.

In the finale of the series titled “This is You,” Williams recaps her return to tennis after giving birth to her first child, Olympia, in 2017 with husband and co-creator of the popular social media site Reddit, Alexis Ohanian. While she continued to play following the birth of her eldest daughter, she was never able to return to the height of her success and finished her career ranked No. 320 in the world. Plagued by injuries in the final two seasons before her retirement, Williams announced her retirement from the sport in September of 2022 with a cover story in Vogue.
