The anthology series Como Dice el Dicho featuring cafe owner Don Tomas is back on UniMas today.
The acclaimed anthology series Como Dice el Dicho, which translates to “as the saying goes,” returns for an 11th season. Over the years this show has followed the stories in Mexico City, primarily through the activities at Cafe El Dicho, run by Don Tomas, played by Sergio Corona. He has been the star of the anthology series since it debuted in 2011 and is back for an 11th season this year. The majority of the original cast have moved on, while Tomas continues to lead the main cast featuring Brisa Carrillo as Marieta and Benny Emmanuel as Pato along with recurring characters from previous years, new faces for this season and special guests over the course of the season.

Over the previous 10 seasons of Como Dice el Dicho the show has been nominated eight times for “Best Unit Program” at the TVyNovelas. The show won the award three seasons in a row in 2016, 2017 and 2018. This season the show looks to get back in the award winning conversation for the first time in four years.
Each episode of the series typically takes a proverb of Mexican origin to tell a story and build a theme. There have been episodes with themes of family violence, economic challenges, personal growth, gender norms, drug addiction and several other real-life challenges we all face.
