The American Music Awards will bring out a wide variety of guests on Sunday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show.
The American Music Awards celebrate its 50th anniversary on Sunday night and the show won’t have any shortage of performances to celebrate. The great thing about the awards show is the diversity of genres represented. One of the biggest moments of the night will be EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson honoring the legendary Whitney Houston with a performance. Houston won 22 AMA’s herself in what should be a touching tribute to singer. Another special moment will be Gladys Knight doing a rendition of her iconic song “Midnight Train to Georgia” which she performed at the first American Music Awards back in 1974. It won’t stop there with Mariah Carey having one of the top billings of the night. The iconic singer will be doing a medley of songs from her album “The Emancipation of Mimi” which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

There is still a ton to celebrate tonight and that becomes more apparent when Brad Paisley will sing “Truck Still Works” and perform a Charley Pride tribute. Kane Brown will keep the country music celebration rolling singing a wide variety of classics and current mainstays. Other performances tonight will include Green Day, Sheila E., Chaka Khan, Nelly, Niles Rodgers and Stray Kids doing a performance to honor the legacy and impact of Boy Bands.
If you like any genre of music, the AMA’s have your back. And that is just the musical performances. Presenters will include Samuel L. Jackson, Reba McEntire, Kate Hudson, Backstreet Boys alum AJ McLean and *NSYNC alum Lance Bass, Cedric the Entertainer, Smokey Robinson and many more.
