Saturday Night Live will dig into the archives on Wednesday night to highlight some of its best holiday sketches.
If you haven’t already gotten into the Christmas spirit, look no further than NBC on Wednesday night at 9 p.m. The network will present A Saturday Night Live Christmas which will present some of the show’s most memorable holiday sketches from the past 50 seasons of the popular comedy show. The special will span two hours and present some of the beloved classics from years past while also showing some of the newer skits.
Some of the show’s most iconic comedians and actors will be highlighted such as Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon in “Schweddy Balls” and Steve Martin’s “Holiday Wish.” Some of the guest hosts that fans will see from past specials are Justin Timberlake and Ryan Gosling.

Some of the other popular skits that will be revisited on Wednesday night will be “D in a Box,” “Elf on the Shelf” and “A Christmas Carol.” Jason Mamoa plays an elf reporting back to Santa on the behavior of his assigned child in the “Elf on the Shelf” skit and it does not disappoint. In “A Christmas Carol,” longtime SNL comedian Martin Short portrays Ebenezer Scrooge and is accompanied by Steve Martin. The classic story turns bloody in this reimagined skit that will have viewers crying in laughter.
Saturday Night Live has continued to deliver side-splitting sketches for 50 years and on Wednesday night, fans of the show will be able to reminisce on some of the funniest moments that have celebrated the holidays. Tune in at 9 p.m. with a pile of gifts to wrap as you get into the holiday spirit ahead of Christmas which is just a week away.
