The Barbados Royals host their third match in four days when they take on the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots on Tuesday
The Barbados Royals (4-1, 8 points) own a share of the lead in the Caribbean Premier League with a game in hand over the Saint Lucia Kings. On Tuesday, the Royals return to venerable Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, to host the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots (1-6, 2 points) who are already all but eliminated from knockout-stage contention with just three matches remaining. Barbados seeks a return to the postseason for just the second time since winning the title in 2019 while the Patriots haven’t been in the knockout phase since winning the franchise’s only championship in 2021.

The Royals hammered the defending champion Guyana Amazon Warriors by 32 runs on Saturday, 205-6 to 173-5. Quinton de Kock powered the attack with 115 runs and a 169.12 strike rate in a performance that included nine 6s and eight 4s. Makeesh Theekshana didn’t take any wickets but allowed only 21 runs in four overs.
St. Kitts & Nevis lost by five wickets at Saint Lucia on Thursday, 176-5 to 173-5. Andre Fletcher picked up 62 runs in the loss while Rilee Rossouw added 50 at a 161.29 strike rate. In three overs, Wanindu Hasaranga hit two wickets with a 4.33 economy rate.
Barbados won the first meeting between the clubs on Sept. 6, taking a two-wicket victory 157-8 to 153-8. de Kock leads the CPL with 308 runs in five matches while Kyle Mayers of the Patriots is third with 204 in seven matches. Anrich Nortje of St. Kitts & Nevis leads the league with 11 wickets in 27.3 overs while Hasaranga’s 5.64 economy rate is third, just ahead of Theekshana’s 5.65.
