Georgia comes into today’s game with an overall record of 40-16 and an SEC record of 12-12. Liberty has an overall record of 43-16 and a dominating 23-1 record in ASUN play.
Leading into the tournament, Georgia did not fare as well as it would have liked dropping all three games in its series against Ole Miss. The Bulldogs were outscored 23-15 in the series. Putting up that many runs against a strong Ole Miss team may be just the preparation needed coming into the tournament and playing the best teams in the country.
Liberty is currently on a three-game win streak and will look to extend it with a win over Georgia today. In its last two games, the Lady Flames have beaten North Florida twice with scores of 9-1 (six innings) and 9-0 (five innings). Before those games, the team knocked off North Alabama 6-4.
With the offense produced in both teams’ last several games, Georgia and Liberty should provide an exciting first-round game for fans tuning in.
Regional restrictions may apply.
