Game 1 of the NCAA DI Softball Championship Austin Super Regional series between Texas and Texas A&M will take place on Friday. The Longhorns come into this game with a 50-7 record on the season and are 26-2 at home. They defeated Siena 5-0 in the Austin Regional then took down Northwestern 14-2 and 7-0 to advance to the Super Regional. In the final game, the Horns got three RBIs from Mia Scott as she hit a three-run homer in the second inning to put the team up 5-0 at the time.

The Aggies sit at 43-13 on the year and are just 9-9 in true away games this season. The team hosted the regional last weekend, beating UAlbany 6-2 and then sweeping a ranked Texas State squad 1-0 and then 8-0, with the latter game getting run-ruled. Kennedy Powell batted in three of the seven runs in the victory, with two of those coming via a second-inning homer.
Next season, these two teams will both be in the SEC, so this is the final chance for them to meet as non-conference foes. They last played in May of 2023, with the Longhorns sweeping the Aggies in the regional round. That included an 11-5 win in Game 2.
