Arizona State and Stanford will conclude their Pac-12 series on Sunday afternoon.
Unranked Arizona State will look to avoid the sweep on Sunday as the team plays No. 8 Stanford in the series finale. The Sun Devils have struggled in conference play this season and come into Sunday’s contest with a Pac-12 record of 2-9 and an overall record of 18-17 which puts them in last place in the conference standings. The team has been shutout in both games with the first being a 4-0 loss and the second being a big 14-0 defeat in five innings. Stanford held Arizona State to just one hit in yesterday’s game and it came from the bat of Shannon Cunningham. Stanford finished the game with nine hits, let by Taryn Kern who went 3-for-3 at the plate, however, the majority of the team’s runs came due to errors or walks by the Arizona State defense.
