With only three regular season games remaining, UCLA will look to upset Indiana at home.
On Friday night, Big Ten newcomer No. 15 UCLA will welcome Indiana to Wallis Annenberg Stadium for its penultimate conference contest ahead of tournament play. The Bruins are currently in fourth place in the Big Ten standings with 12 points from a conference record of 3-2-3 and an overall record of 6-3-5. The team’s last time on the pitch was Monday night as the Bruins took on No. 6 Maryland, playing to a 1-1 draw in College Park. The Terps opened the scoring in the 25th minute of play and took a 1-0 lead into the break, but the Bruins fought back right out of the locker room. After a few quality opportunities, Tamir Ratoviz capitalized on one, putting away the equalizer in the 55th minute. The Terps outshot the Bruins 12-8, but Wyatt Nelson held strong in net, making two saves to help his team earn a point toward its total.

The Hoosiers are currently tied for the top spot on the Big Ten leaderboard with Maryland as the team has a conference record of 5-1-2 and an overall record of 7-3-5. On Friday, the team hosted Michigan State at Bill Armstrong Stadium and played to a 3-1 victory. Justin Weiss scored his third goal of the season with an assist by Quinton Elliot to give the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute and Patrick McDonald extended that lead with a penalty kick in the 39th minute. The Spartans cut the lead in half just before halftime, but Samuel Sarver extended the lead back to two goals in the 51st minute of play. JT Harms made four saves in net for Indiana.
Friday night’s game will be the 20th meeting between Indiana and UCLA and the Hoosiers currently hold an 11-8 advantage in the series. The last meeting was in 2019 and resulted in a 2-1 double overtime win for the Hoosiers.
