A top 25 matchup will take place Friday night as No. 16 SMU travels to North Carolina to take on No. 18 Duke in ACC action.

On Friday night, Southern Methodist will take a trip to North Carolina as the the team takes on No. 18 Duke at Koskinen Stadium in an ACC matchup. The Mustangs are currently in sixth place in the conference standings with an ACC record of 2-1 and an overall record of 6-1-3. The team’s lone loss this season came against then-No. 8 Pitt (now No. 1) in a 3-1 defeat at home. Since then, the Mustangs have gone on a five game undefeated streak with the most recent being a 3-2 victory over UTRGV in a non-conference meeting on Sunday. Niv Berkovitz, Bailey Sparks and Stephan Soghomonian each netted goals in the first half to give the Mustangs a 3-0 lead going into the locker room. The Vaqueros didn’t end up scoring their first goal until the 84th minute, but they found the back of the net just four minutes later, as well, to bring the game within one. The Mustangs were able to regroup and play solid defense in the final minutes to earn the win behind Martin Dominguez’ two saves in net.
