Friday night’s game was a back-and-forth affair. Neither team let by more than one goal at any point, with the only consecutive goals coming from Colorado College between the first and second periods to go from down 1-0 to up 2-1.
The Tigers had a late 3-2 lead, before Northern Michigan’s Matthew Romer scored in the final minute to force overtime. However, it only took 21 seconds into overtime for Noah Laba to deliver the game winner. Laba finished the game with two points, adding an assist on the lone goal of the second period.
On the other side, Romer was the start for Northern Michigan. He finished with two goals on just two shots, and was a +1 when on the ice.
