Indiana and Louisville face-off in this college hockey battle in the first of a home-and-home series on Thursday.
Indiana plays its first game of the month when it hosts Louisville on Thursday. This is the first game of a home-and-home series between the Hoosiers and Cardinals. Indiana last played on Nov. 24 against their Big Ten rival in the Iowa Hawkeyes. The game was played at a neutral site at Canlan Sports – Romeoville complex in Illinois about 45 minutes from Chicago. The game ended a a fairly lopsided affair with the Hawkeyes winning 5-2. This game came after a 5-4 win over another conference rival in Wisconsin and another 5-4 win over Minnesota. This will be fun to see a matchup for Indiana in a game we don’t usually see against Louisville. The Hoosiers are coming off a great season when in March they became the 2024 ACHA M2 National Champions.

The Cardinals will be the home team in the second game against Indiana played on Thursday. This is the last game week of the semester for Louisville. After the third round of the ACHA M2 rankings that came out on Dec. 9, the Cardinals finished No. 16 nationally.
This ranking came after the Cardinals barely lost to Michigan on Dec. 8. The final score was 4-3 and came after a shootout. Michigan scored in all three rounds compared to Louisville missing in Rounds 2 and 3. This should be another exciting battle against another Big Ten opponent.
