New Mexico State will head on the road in Week 6 of the college football season to take on Jacksonville State at AmFirst Stadium in Jacksonville, Alabama, on Wednesday night. The Aggies are 1-4 this season through five games and a bye week. They opened up the year against Southeast Missouri winning 23-16 at home. They welcomed in Liberty the next week lost 30-24. In their first road game in Week 3, they lost to Fresno State badly 48-0. They stayed on the road the next week, losing to Sam Houston State 31-11, following it up with another shootout loss to New Mexico last week, 50-40, back at home. Santino Marucci, the team’s junior quarterback, leads them under center with just 268 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions. Sophomore quarterback Parker Awad has 243 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions, while Deuce Hogan, a senior quarterback, also has 31 yards. TJ Price leads the receiving corps as a freshman with 12 receptions for 123 yards.

The Gamecocks are 2-3 this season coming back home after a road win last week at Kennesaw State 63-24. They opened the season with three straight losses against Coastal Carolina 55-27 followed by former-ranked Louisville 49-14. Week 3 saw their third loss 37-34 in double overtime against Eastern Michigan before coming home and picking up a 44-7 win in Week 4 against South Mississippi.
Tyler Huff, a senior quarterback, leads the team with 1,073 yards passing and five touchdowns with four interceptions. He is averaging a 75.6 QBR this season. Huff also leads Jacksonville State with 445 yards on the ground and another five touchdowns with his legs.
