Arizona State makes a treacherous trip to the Lone Star State to visit unbeaten Texas State on Thursday night.
Arizona State (2-0) is off to a solid start under second-year coach Kenny Dillingham, who at 34 is the youngest non-interim head coach in FBS. The Sun Devils have the chance to start 3-0 against all FBS competition for the first time since 2007 when they visit Texas State (2-0) at UFCU Stadium in San Marcos, Texas, on Thursday night. The Bobcats are also under the direction of a young coach, G.J. Kinne, the third-youngest FBS head coach at age 35. Dillingham leads Arizona State into its first season in the Big 12 Conference. Texas State plays in the Sun Belt Conference and moved up from FCS in 2012.

The Sun Devils jumped out to a 27-3 halftime lead on Saturday and hung on to beat visiting Mississippi State 30-23. Cam Skattebo, the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, rambled for 262 yards on 33 carries, while Sam Leavitt scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Defensive lineman C.J. Fite scored on a one-yard fumble return as well.
The Bobcats blasted visiting UTSA 49-10 on Saturday behind four total touchdowns from Jordan McCloud. He was 18-of-27 for 309 yards and two scores through the air and ran for a pair of TDs as well. Lincoln Pare piled up 109 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns and Chris Dawn Jr. caught five passes for 150 yards and both aerial scores.
