Northeastern looks to snap a two game losing streak in college field hockey against UMass-Lowell today.
Through eight matches this season UMass-Lowell (4-4) has been as up-and-down as any team in the country. The River Hawks have traded wins and losses every game this season after starting with a win and coming off a loss in their last effort. If the pattern holds, todayās match with Northeastern (3-6) is an opportunity to get back on with a win today. For the Huskies the theme of the season has been coming up short. All but two of their matches have been decided by one point including an overtime loss in their last outing. Both teams are looking to get back on track after a loss heading into the second half of the season.

Last season these teams played one match with the River Hawks coming out with a 3-0 win. They scored once in the first, second and final periods for a dominant victory early in the season. Karli Penrod, Ava Clarke and Alissia de Vries all found the net in a runaway victory during a very strong season.
This season has been less successful through eight matches for the River Hawks, but there is still time to get on track. Madison Leeper has been the team’s offensive engine scoring six goals. Penrod has started the season strong with four goals and two assists for 10 total points, second on the team.
For the Huskies this season Emmy Stubbs is leading the team with five goals while Maria Armaganian leads the team with five assists. Those two have led the offense this season, which has struggled at times to find consistency and lead the team to wins. When those two are rolling, the Huskies have the potential to be a contender in the Colonial Athletic Conference.
