Two big time programs in No. 1 Tennessee and No. 8 Florida State face-off on Wednesday in the College World Series. This is the 11th game of the CWS with more to follow. The Seminoles must beat the Volunteers twice in two days to advance to College World Series finals weekend.

Tennessee’s pitching staff came up big in Sunday’s 6-1 victory over No. 3 UNC, propelling the Volunteers to their first ever 2-0 start in the Men’s College World Series. UT got an incredible pitching performance from junior right-hander Drew Beam, who allowed just one run and four hits over five innings while striking out seven batters to earn the win.
Back-to-back home runs by Jaxson West and Max Williams in the ninth inning against the Tar Heels clinched the game for the Seminoles. West led FSU with four hits and two RBIs. FSU finished with 13 hits and and five players had at least one RBI.
Now, Florida State will need to beat Tennessee twice to advance to the finals for the first time since 1999. The two played a thriller in the first round on opening day in Omaha with the Volunteers winning on a walkoff hit.
