One of the top collegiate summer baseball leagues continues its games on Thursday when the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox and the Orleans Firebirds square-off in Cape Cod League action. This marks the first matchup between the two teams this season, with 10 games under their belt for both squads.

The teams have started the season going in two different directions. The Red Sox are 7-3 on the season, while the Firebirds are just 2-8. Wednesday was an interesting day of Cape League games with fog either cutting games short or completely cancelling them.
Falmouth had a 7-0 lead over Orleans going into the sixth inning on Wednesday and after outfielders had issues seeing fly balls, the game was eventually called with Orleans losing 7-1.
The pitching matchup on Thursday will be Micah Bucknam (LSU) for Yarmouth-Denis against Michael Foltz Jr. (George Washington) for Orleans. Bucknam is 1-0 so far this season with a 5.40 ERA. Foltz Jr. has three strikeouts on the season and this is his first start.
