The Harbor Hawks defeated the Brewster Whitecaps 8-6 Tuesday night in large part due to an influx of baserunners and timely hitting. The Harbor Hawks reached base 19 times and were able to keep the Whitecaps off the base paths. The win on Tuesday makes it two in a row for the Hawks, with a chance to extend the mini-win streak on Wednesday.
Andres Galan will be the starting pitcher for Hyannis. He has a 5.27 ERA and has appeared in 13.2 innings this summer. Galan is 1-0 and his last start was against the Harwich Mariners on July 9, where the Harbor Hawks went on to win 8-7.
Commodores starting pitcher Sean Brennan and the team’s defense dug themselves in a hole quickly in the top of the first inning on Tuesday by giving up five hits, four runs and one walk and wound up losing 14-8 to Chatham. The team is currently on a three-game losing streak.
