Playoff positioning is on the line as Cavalry heads east to face York United in Canadian Premier League action.
With the season series tied 1-1-1 heading into the final month of the Canadian Premier League season, Cavalry FC hits the road today for its final Friday fixture of the campaign as it looks for its third consecutive road win at York United. Both teams come into this match eight points clear of the playoff line and are within six points of the top seed in the playoff that start in late October. Cavs earned a 2-1 win in its August visit to York Lions Stadium despite only holding 38.6% of possession on Fraser Aird’s goal in the 52nd minute a month after York beat Cavalry on ATCO Field a month prior.

York United forward Brian Wright, who comes into this game second in the CPL with nine goals scored, returned to training this week after missing the last three matches due to injury. Wright spent two seasons with Atlético Ottawa prior to joining The Nine Stripes where he helped the capital city side to the CPL Shield in 2022.
Defender Daan Klomp has scored a goal in three of the last four games for Cavalry moving the Netherlands native into second on the team in scoring behind attacker Tobias Warschewski who has seven goals in 19 matches.
Cavalry FC leads the all-time series 13-4-3 in CPL play with four wins coming in the last six meetings. Fifteen of the last 16 matches have had three goals or less with both teams scoring a goal in five of the last six contests.
