Corona reached the championship game with a 3-1 victory over Huntington Beach on Tuesday. Junior Seth Hernandez cracked a two-run home run, his team-high eighth of the season, in the bottom of the sixth to give the Panthers the lead. Hernandez also allowed just a run on four hits over six innings to pick up the win on the mound.
Senior Jacob Magna tossed four shutout innings as the Wolverines beat Orange Lutheran 4-2 on Tuesday. Sophomore Jake Chung picked up the save with 2.1 innings of work.
The Panthers battle history in Saturday night’s game, as no No. 1 seed has won the section title since Camarillo turned the trick in 2002.
