He currently has 79,940 points to his name and 303 total wins. Wang Zhi Yi, also of China, holds a nearly 10,000 point lead over Busanan Ongbamrungphan, who is ranked second in women’s singles. Zhi Yi has 186 wins to her name this year and 86,510 points.

China’s He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu will likely hold on to the top spot in men’s doubles as they are currently 14,000 points ahead of the next best team. The race on the women’s doubles side is much closer, however. Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi of Japan only hold an 800 point lead over Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee from Korea. In mixed doubles, Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin have been dominant and hold a commanding 15,000 point lead over Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei of Malaysia.

With $850,000 worth of prize money on the line, the players hope to stay in the tournament and make it to the end to increase the value of their winnings upon completion and also add points to their ranking to make it to the World Tour Finals in December. Tune in Wednesday afternoon as the best in the world compete in Finland.
