With the ARCA Menards Series season winding down, Andrés Pérez looks to hold on to the points lead at Watkins Glen.
It’s crunch time for the ARCA Menards Series, with races each of the next four weeks to decide the season championship. On Friday night, the series hits the road course at Watkins Glen International in the Finger Lakes region of New York. The race is set for 41 laps around the 2.45-mile layout with its eight turns. Andrés Pérez has ridden his consistency to the top of the circuit standings, with a 49-point lead over Lavar Scott despite not winning a race this season. But Pérez has eight top-five finishes and 14 top-10s among his 16 starts. William Sawalich has a series-best seven wins but has only run 11 events and is 264 points behind Pérez in the standings. Kris Wright trails by 67 points and Christian Rose is an even 100 points behind.

Brent Crews won the last race, the Southern Illinois 100 on Sept. 1, besting Sawalich by just 0.177 seconds. Pérez placed third and Wright was fourth. Crews won’t be in the field on Friday night, but Sawalich and the top four in the standings are scheduled to be on the starting grid.
Series champion Jesse Love won the race at The Glen last year, tapping Connor Zilisch by 0.195 seconds in a race extended by one lap. Love now drives full-time on the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Zilisch, who turned 18 in July, will be racing on Friday for just the sixth time this season. He has wins in four of his five starts, most recently at Michigan on Aug. 16.
