Top seeded Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek play in the Round of 16 at the 2024 U.S. Open today.
The 2024 U.S. Open moves into the Round of 16 featuring the top seeded men’s and women’s singles players in action. Jannik Sinner looks to make his fourth straight quarterfinal of the year in Grand Slams, with the path open for his second win after Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were both upset earlier in the tournament. He will be challenged by 14th seeded Tommy Paul in Arthur Ashe Stadium to close out the day. This will be the first year since 2002 where one of Djokovic, Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal have not won a Grand Slam tournament.

In the women’s draw Iga Swiatek is challenged by 16th seeded Liudmila Samsonova here in the Round of 16. Swiatek has the opportunity to make her ninth career quarterfinal and win her second major of the year after taking the French Open earlier in the summer.
Also in action in the women’s singles draw today are fifth-seeded Jasmine Paolini, sixth-seeded Jessica Pegula and what could be the match of the day between veteran Caroline Wozniacki and 22nd seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia.
Over in the men’s singles draw the day starts with 25th seeded Jack Draper taking on Tomas Machac and fifth-seeded Daniil Medvedev challenged by Nuno Borges for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Jordan Thompson looks to pull off the upset against 10th seeded Alex de Minaur while Sinner looks to hold off 14th seeded Tommy Paul in the final two matches of the Round of 16 today.
