Haudenosaunee and England face off on Tuesday in the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships.
The city of Utica, New York, is set to host the exciting mid-week matchup between Haudenosaunee and England on Tuesday in the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships. The WLBC is an international box lacrosse tournament sponsored by World Lacrosse that is held every four years. Since the first tournament in 2003, Canada has won all five gold medals and is undefeated in all games. The Canadian team hosted the first two tournaments in 2003 and 2007. Then, the Czech Republic hosted the games in 2011, followed by the Onondaga Nation hosting in 2015. Finally, the 2019 tournament was held in Langley, British Columbia, Canada.

The winner of the tournament takes the Cockerton Cup, which is named after All-American lacrosse player Stan Cockerton.
In August of 2023, World Lacrosse announced the 2024 Lacrosse Box Championships for both men’s and women’s box lacrosse, which was decided to be held from Sep. 20 through Sep. 29 in Utica.
The 2024 edition of the tournament marks the sixth championship for men and first for women in the discipline of box lacrosse, a historic first for men’s and women’s world titles to be decided at the same event.
On the men’s side, the previous five tournaments have all had the same three medalists. Canada took the gold medal in all games to date, while the Iroqouis won silver and the United States the bronze medal.
