In the Laver Cup the players are separated into teams representing either Europe or the rest of the World. Both teams compete in singles and doubles matches to earn points throughout the three days to see which part of the globe currently has the best tennis players.
This year Team Europe is led by Alcaraz and Zverev, with Dimitrov, Ruud, Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev filling out the rest of the main team. Flavio Cobolli and Jan-Lennard Struff will be available as alternate for team captain Bjorn Borg and vice-captain Thomas Enqvist to try and Team Europe back in the win column.
For the last two years Team World has taken the Laver Cup after Team Europe dominated the series with four straight wins. Most of which were lopsided. This year’s Team World is led by Americans Fritz, Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, with Cerundolo, Kokkinakis, and Tabilo rounding out the roster that is led by the McEnroe brothers, John and Patrick.
