On Saturday, Sri Lanka takes on New Zealand (1-1, 2 points) in a Group A matchup, with the White Ferns still in contention for a spot in the semifinals. Both teams come off blowout losses in their last match and will be looking to rebound, with Sri Lanka looking to get out of the United Arab Emirates with at least one victory after going 2-2 in South Africa in February 2023.

New Zealand took a 60-run defeat at the hands of Australia on Tuesday, 148 and 8 to 88 and 0. Melie Kerr led the attack with 29 runs off 31 balls while Suzie Bates contributed 20 off 27. Kerr took four wickets as well, with Rosemary Mair and Brooke Halliday each taking a pair.
The White Ferns are ranked No. 4 in the world while Sri Lanka holds the No. 7 spot. Sophie Devine of New Zealand has the second-highest scoring inning in the tournament with a 57 against India on Oct. 4.
