Mexico and Australia both look for their first win of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Tuesday evening
Mexico battles Australia on Tuesday evening in their second game of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The Mexican team played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday against Cameroon and will be looking for their first win in the tournament. It was a tough outcome for Mexico as they led 2-0 in the second half, but gave up a goal in the 52nd minute and then the equalizer in the 85th minute. The draw leaves them tied with Cameroon for second place, two points back of Colombia who beat Australia in its first game. The Mexican team will now look to get back on track with a win and all but eliminate the Aussies from making it out of group play.

Australia, though, is looking to bounce back from that first loss and shock the Mexican side on Tuesday morning.
Australia played well on defense in its first match, but couldn’t get their offense going as it was shut out 2-0 to Colombia. The Aussies kept it tied until the 58th minute, but gave up another in the 76th minute.
They were outshot 12-5 in the match and will need to be better on offense on Monday if they want to upset Mexico.
A loss on Monday would eliminate them from winning the group and make their chances of sneaking a top third place finish nearly impossible.
