Canada goes for its first win of the U-20 Women’s World Cup when it takes on Fiji on Tuesday night.
Canada battles Fiji in Group B action of the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup on Tuesday night. The Canadiens played France to a 3-3 draw in their first match of the tournament on Saturday. It was an exciting game against the French as the Canadiens scored just four minutes in, but France tied it in the eighth minute. Canada would take back the lead 14 minutes later, but France would score the next two goals to take the lead. Canada was able to salvage the draw when Annabelle Chukwu scored in the 84th minute. The draw has them tied with France for second place in Group B, two points back of Brazil who beat Fiji in its first match.

Fiji struggled in its first match against Brazil, as it was completely overwhelmed. Fiji failed to score and gave up nine goals to the favorites.
Fiji managed just two shots and gave up 32 to Brazil. Fiji was never in the game and will have to find a way to play much better if it wants to have any shot against the Canadiens.
It is a big accomplishment for the tiny country to make the World Cup, but it is also trying to prove that it belongs. It didn’t against one of the tournament favorites in its first match, but will get another shot on Tuesday against Canada.
