Colombia and Cameroon battle for first place in Group A in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Tuesday night
Colombia goes for its second straight win on Tuesday night when it takes on Cameroon in the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup. The Colombians won their first match on Saturday when they shut out Australia 2-0. They got a goal from Yunaira Lopez in the 58th minute to open scoring and then got some insurance when Linda Caicedo scored 18 minutes later. The win put them in first place in Group A as Cameroon and Mexico played to a draw in their fist match. With a win Colombia can clinch a spot in the knockout stage and will be guaranteed at least a tie for the top spot if Australia upsets Mexico.

Cameroon, though, will be looking to pull off the upset and move into first place in Group A. It is looking for its first win after it played Mexico to a 2-2 tie.
It was a good outcome for Cameroon after it trailed 2-0 heading into the second half. It got its first goal of the tournament in the 52nd minute when Naomi Eto found the back of the net.
Eto would score again in the 85th minute to tie the game and allow Cameroon to salvage a much-needed point in the first match. A win would have been better, but with the way the game went Cameroon was happy to get a draw.
Tuesday it will look to get that first win and take control of the Group. It won’t be easy, though, against a good Colombian team.
