Brazil will take on Zambia on Thursday night at the Estadio OlÃmpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in the group stage of Group D of the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. This game will be refereed by Thi Ly Le. Earlier this summer, the Brazilian U17 Women’s team played a pair of friendly matches against the United States losing both games three days apart 3-1. In the first game, Brazil’s only goal was from Stephanie Juju from the attack. In the second game, the nation’s lone goal came from Giovanna Waksman. Brazil played in the last U17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay and lost in the quarterfinals after making it out of the group-stage play. It took down Morocco 1-0, drew the United States 1-1, and dominated India 5-0 in the group stage before losing 2-0 in a quarterfinal shutout against Germany.

Zambia has qualified for just one FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup since 2008. In 2014, it qualified but was ranked No. 11 of all the teams with just one win and two losses in three group games. It walked away with a negative-five goal differential after allowing seven goals and scoring just two amongst the three games.
Zambia’s last outing came against Morocco in a two-leg fourth round of the African U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in order to get here. The nation won 3-1 in the first leg with a hat trick from Stalet Chileshe to down Morocco. The second game ended in a 0-0 draw.
