The Cincinnati Open is the oldest tennis tournament in the United States, with the event founded in 1899. It has been played at the Lindner Family Tennis Center since 1979. The defending men’s singles champion is Novak Djokovic and the defending women’s singles champion is Coco Gauff.
This event will feature a number of athletes who competed in tennis at the Paris Olympics, with 100 players from those games. One name that’s missing is Djokovic, the men’s gold medalist in Paris and defending champion of this event. He withdrew from the field, citing the quick turnaround after the Olympics.
